Borderlands 2 has Almost Same Number of Unique Players on Steam as GTA 5, How?

Vital Steam numbers were leaked recently and though Valve has patched the flaw by which this data was obtained, once things make it to the internet, it is there to stay. Here we have some interesting numbers regarding the players of Borderlands 2 and how close the number is to the players of GTA 5. The numbers have been included below.

It should be noted that these numbers are accurate as of July 1st and will lose their importance as time passes. GTA 5 has the upper hand with 12,604,123 players and Borderlands 2 it not far behind with 11,218,936. These are very different games and it is interesting to note that GTA 5 came out on September 17, 2013 and Borderlands 2 released on September 18, 2012. Both games are a year apart from each other in terms of launch.

As far as I know, these numbers represent players that have played the game at least once since achievements were added to the game. Players that have these games in their account but have not launched them are not included in these figures.

Borderlands 2 and GTA 5 are very different games from all perspectives except that both games are fun to play. While GTA 5 is an open world game with online aspect, Borderlands 2 is a shooter game with a comedic twist to it. These are both great games and if you have not played them then it is worth giving them a shot.

It is also interesting to note that there are more players for Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive as compared to PUBG. Before the exploit was patched date of 13000 games was taken. Arstechnica has published the whole list and you should check it out if you have not already gone through it.

Let us know what you think about these numbers want which game you prefer over the other.
