BioWare Wants To Take Creative Risks, Experimenting With Small Games In the Future

Even though BioWare has completely set its focus on its highly anticipated title in development, Anthem, it seems like this development company has slightly different intentions for future games. According to the studio head, Mark Darrah, the company would like to take more creative risks.

Recently Mark Darrah, in an interview, shared few of his thoughts regarding the direction the company wants to take, and it seems pretty clear that even though BioWare enjoys making bigger titles, they really want to explore the creative side with smaller games.

According to Darrah, they want to experiment on smaller games by using the set of skills they learned through games like Mass Effect, Anthem, and more.

It’s incredibly important [to stay diversified]

Bioware GM, Casy Hudson jumping into the conversation said that,

I think some of the things that are coming, just in the way that we’re doing things in BioWare, and EA, and the way the industry is going, I think it is starting to afford us the opportunity for us to do some things that are more experimental

However, a company that has reached such level by developing big AAA titles, experimenting with smaller games would itself be a huge risk, which can have a lot of drawbacks as well.

But there are many AAA games in development that would support BioWare’s risky ventures. However, one only hope these creative risks don’t mean BioWare will bastardize their IPs with cut down mobile versions; similar to what EA did with Command and Conquer.

Having said that, Anthem is slated to roll out in February 2019 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
