Take-Two Says Red Dead Redemption 2 Will Sell Well But It’s Difficult To Say How Well

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most anticipated games to release in 2018 which have been in development for a long time and is coming from the hitmakers of GTA 5 but still, the Take-Two interactive doesn’t know how well will the game do when it releases.

Despite the success of the first game, Take-Two hasn’t revealed how much the game will sell but it didn’t stop the analysts to do their maths who are predicting the game to be 12 Million or more.

The game will sell well but it’s pretty obvious the game will not overdo Grand Theft Auto 5 which is about to reach 100 million units and is the most profitable entertainment product of all time. It seems like all the developers and publishers are scared of Red Dead Redemption 2 as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Call Of Duty Black Ops 4 are going to launch earlier than their previous release dates along with Battlefield V and Fallout 76 scheduled to launch in November.

It’s been made clear by Take-Two, CEO Strauss Zelnick that “We’re running scared too”.

CEO Strauss Zelnick says:

“We don’t believe in our success until we deliver it. We never claim victory until it’s occurred. We have very powerful, smart, capable competitors bringing great products to market and we need to win – that means we have to work harder than the next guy. I don’t think this is a numbers exercise around attach rates – I think this is a question of how phenomenal is the product, and does it capture people’s attention and imagination? The answer is clearly it’s going to do well, but it’s very difficult to say how well. It’s going to be a big success, but it’s a question of how big?”

Zelnick is running scared from Red Dead Redemption 2 and he knows that the competitors have big games lined up to release but they need to win and work harder than the other developers. Zelnick believes that Red Dead Redemption 2 will do well but it’s not clear to them how well, he was reluctant to answer how big much big of a success it will be.

He also made it clear that the game will never do as good as the most profitable entertainment product of all time which is GTA 5 but it’s enough for us to believe that the people who made GTA are behind Red Dead Redemption 2 which makes us all wonder how successful it can turn out to be after all.
