Many think of Anthem as the next big sci-fi to hit PC and consoles as a competitor to Destiny 2. While the game looks completely different than its “competitor” there’s one thing that they certainly have in common. You will be able to have multiple Anthem characters on one account as its producer revealed.
Anthem Executive Producer Mark Darrah has taken Anthem to Twitter over the past days, answering fans’ questions and revealing some details about BioWare’s next big project. Most of the information Darrah has provided, were previously highlighted at E3 2018 still, he did give away some new information regarding the game, and especially the Javelin suits. This gesture is much appreciated since we get to find out more without having to wait for long developer updates or exclusive interviews.
Among others, Darrah has answered a fan’s question regarding the creation of different Anthem characters on one account. Since you will be able to change Javelins (classes) whenever you want, we don’t see the point of doing so as of yet, however, there must be something we don’t know yet that is character bound.
Furthermore, he revealed that there will be a limit to the number of Anthem characters you’ll be able to make, which is expected as with any game of that type. You’ll be creating your own character and start the game from there on, so there might be a purely cosmetic aspect to the different Anthem characters.
We already know that we’ll be starting off as a Ranger, with the other Javelins being unlocked through a special mission. After that, you’ll be able to switch your Javelin to suit your playstyle and objective.
Anthem is slated for release on February 22, 2019, for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. There will be no loot boxes and pay-to-win microtransactions in the game and that happened possibly due to the community’s request after the backlash about Star Wars Battlefront 2.
