If you were one of the many people who decided to play Fatshark Games’s Warhammer: The End Times: Vermintide on an Xbox One or Playstation 4, the developer has a treat for you Xbox One fans. You’ll soon be able to play Vermintide 2 on Xbox One, and an open beta is available.
Vermintide 2 continues the story of the original Vermintide game, with the five heroes of Ubersreik now fighting in and around the city of Helmgart as the sinister Skaven of Clan Fester make their next move. But the Skaven and the new toys they have aren’t the only things players will have to fight. The Chaos warband known as the Rotbloods have formed a Dark Pact with the Skaven, so you’ll also have to fight a whole new enemy.
Vermintide 2 on Xbox One will have all of the current content that Vermintide 2 on the PC already does, including all of the various maps, the enemies you’ll butcher, and the new class system that will allow you to choose between three different careers for each of the different characters, who all have a variety of different uses.
Vermintide 2 is, obviously, the sequel to the original Vermintide, and came from that game being so successful, an oddity in something that many at first brushed off as a clone of Left 4 Dead. But the game was popular enough that now Fatshark has been able to spread out and make the game into its own thing while keeping the general gameplay.
While Vermintide 2 on the Xbox One won’t have crossplay with the PC when it launches, it will still be available on the Xbox GamePass for you to at least try if you end up not liking it. The game’s open beta on the console is going on now, and it will release on the console on July 11.
