Beyond Good and Evil 2 beta is confirmed for 2019 by Ubisoft art director Michel Ancel. According to his post on social media, they are going to make sure they roll out the beta by the end of next. This pretty much confirms how early in development this game is and will take a lot of time to complete.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 gameplay beta will offer a vertical slice of the in-development project. While the game is so early in development, we do have a sneak peek of Beyond Good and Evil 2 gameplay. Michel Ancel has shared a handful of gameplay screenshots that offer a look at things to come. Keep in mind, the following images are from an early build of the game and many changes are expected to take place before we see the final version of the next Beyond Good and Evil.
The game is set in the city of Ganesha, one of the characters we’ll see in this city is Uma. Ubisoft is targeting the maximum level of diversity so “whatever its gender, origins, age, everyone can bring something, can be someone.” Beyond Good and Evil 2 story revolves around a world made of clones. Clones are registered by numbers and have a pre-determined role in society. Becoming a pirate means escaping your pre-defined fate.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was showcased at E3 2018 but never gave us a release date. With this beta announcement, it is safe to assume Beyond Good and Evil 2 may just be a PS5 game. Of course, it is going to hit current-gen platforms as well but its release windows puts it close to PS5 and the next-Xbox.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 gameplay supports mods which indicate PS5 and the next-Xbox may fully support Mods as well.
