Remedy Entertainment Wants A New Alan Wake, The IP Is Very “Close To Our Hearts”

Fans of Alan Wake has been asking for Alan Wake 2 for quite some time. While Remedy Entertainment isn’t making a new Alan Wake anytime soon but the studio has noted that everyone wants a new Alan Wake.

Speaking with Dualshockers, Remedy’s Mikael Kasurinen talked about Alan Wake and noted that the IP is very dear to the studio and everyone at Remedy Entertainment wants to see a new Alan Wake title. However, he added that currently there is nothing more to add.

So we own the Alan Wake IP, yes. I just want to say right away that it’s very dear to us and close to our hearts. We all love Alan Wake at Remedy and I think all of us want to see a new Alan Wake game. I just want to say that out loud. Unfortunately, I can’t speak to it anymore than that. We’ll see what happens with Alan Wake next but we all want to see it happen, absolutely.

Alan Wake launched back in 2010 for Xbox 360 and later was released on PC. Alan Wake American Nightmare launched as a spin-off which wrapped some of the plot points for the game but also raised more question.

Remedy’s statement about wanting a new Alan Wake title is the exact opposite of Microsoft’s stance on the IP. According to Phil Spencer, Remedy is not interested in developing an Alan Wake sequel right now.

Remedy Entertainment is currently working on a new title, Control, which also looks very interesting as it features an intriguing premise and gameplay design.

The game revolves around the Federal Bureau of Control and the director of the Bureau, Jesse Faden. The headquarter of the Bureau, where the game is set, is constantly shifting.

Do you want to see a sequel to Alan Wake? What would you like to see in the sequel? Let us know in the comments.
