Since Cyberpunk 2077 is a CD Projekt RED there are certain expectations attached to it. It is mainly due to the success of The Witcher 3 and its exceptional gameplay design. A similar model was expected from Cyberpunk 2077 but according to PlayStation Blog, we should leave our expectations at the door.
Speaking about Cyberpunk, PlayStation Blog wrote an extensive post about the game; calling it a “radically different beast.” Still, at its core, it remains an RPG but with focus on gunplay. You can customize your gender, appearance, and backstory that’ll have an impact on the larger storyline.
CD Projekt Red’s long-awaited follow-up to The Witcher 3 is another fanatically detailed game world that pushes the boundaries of player choice and emergent narrative.
But leave your expectations at the door – Cyberpunk 2077 is a radically different beast, as I quickly learned while watching an overwhelming 50-minute live demo.
For starters, it’s set in first-person and emphasizes gunplay. The RPG element remains strongly represented, something you’ll notice from the start of the game as you customize your character’s gender, appearance, and key backstory details that will impact the larger storyline.
It will also be different on a technical level, for example, players won’t experience loading screens. It is going to load one time when booting up. Moreover, it is a first-person experience.
But since we are discussing how it could be different from The Witcher 3, it is only fair to talk about the similarities as well. For example, Cyberpunk 2077 will feature romance, nudity, and sex.
The game is releasing sometime in the next two years for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
