AMD Ryzen 3 2300X And Ryzen 5 2500X With 3.99 GHz Clock Speed And 8 MB L3 Cache Spotted

While AMD hasn't announced them yet but AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and AMD Ryzen 5 2500X have popped up online along with their specs and benchmarks.

AMD rolled out its 2nd-gen Ryzen APUs in April and it seems that AMD is not yet done with diversifying its CPU and APU portfolio. While AMD hasn’t announced them yet but AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X have popped up online.

The AMD Ryzen 3 2300X and Ryzen 5 2500X have popped up at Geekbench along with their benchmark which showcases how well both processors can perform.

According to the benchmarks, AMD Ryzen 3 2300X is a 4 core CPU and has a base clock of 3.5 GHz and a boost clock of 3.99 GHz and features 8 MB of L3 cache.

However, the 2300X doesn’t feature the SMT which is surprising since all of the 2nd-gen Ryzen CPU and APUs feature SMT.

As for the Ryzen 5 2500X, the CPU features 4 Cores and 8 threads with a base clock of 3.6 GHz and a boost clock of 3.99 GHz. Like 2300X, the Ryzen 5 2500X features 8 MB of L3 cache.

Speaking of AMD processors, during its Computex 2018 presentation, AMD announced its 32 core and 64 thread Ryzen Threadripper.

The 2nd gen Ryzen THreadripper is based on GlobalFoundries’ 12-nm process. But, AMD chose to showcase its 24-core, 48-thread 2nd gen Ryzen Threadrpper running Blender render and compared the performance with Intel Core i9-7980XE. These Threadripper CPUs will be available in Q3 of 2018.

Also, a report has been making rounds on the internet suggesting that AMD is preparing to bring Radeon RX 680 based on the Navi architecture. Not only that, the GPU will feature 8 GB of GDDR6 memory.

This falls in line with AMD’s previous statement that it might ditch HBM2 for GDDR6 in Navi GPUs.

According to AMD, while they have their eyes set on the HBM technology due it being great for “datacentre/workstation type of application” but they are also planning to introduce the GDDR6 memory to the market.
