If you’ve been keeping up with the events of E3 2018, you must have found out that one important title was missing this year. Rocksteady’s Superman has been rumored to be announced at E3, however, the studio wasn’t present at the conference. Now, they explain why.
Rocksteady’s Superman has been heavily rumored to be in development for weeks now. The studio itself didn’t confirm nor deny its existence, yet we know for sure that they are working on something and it clearly is not a new Batman title.
Their absence from this year’s E3 rose questions to fans about the project, however, Game Director and co-founder at Rocksteady, Sefton Hill has come in with the save. Through his Twitter account, he revealed that the team could not be present at E3 2018 however, their upcoming project (presumably the rumored Rocksteady’s Superman) might be announced soon:
We know some of you were disappointed that we were not at E3 this year. The whole team has been reading your comments, and all of us here at Rocksteady really appreciate your passion for our next project.
Knowing how much it means to you keeps us inspired and energized to deliver a game that you will be proud of. We’ll share it with you as it’s ready.
Fires about the project have been reignited back in November when Rocksteady’s Superman has first been rumored and teased to be featured at Game Informer magazine, Game Informer executive editor Andrew Reiner has been quick to debunk it and laugh it off. This happened again a few weeks ago with the same source answering in a cryptic way.
Truth is, even the fact that Rocksteady Studios is working on a Superman title is not confirmed. There’s a possibility that we’ll see the logo flashing on a teaser trailer soon and Superman won’t be in it. For what it’s worth many rumors have become true at E3 this year so everything is possible.
