The Vampyr Bloody Roots Guide is for helping you out in unlocking the Bloody Roots Achievement/Trophy. Since it can be quite tricky to figure out what actually needs doing, we have done the hard work for you.
Vampyr Bloody Roots
Firstly, you will need to acquire the quest titled Pandora’s Box from Usher Talltree. You can find this guy north of west-end in a basement in a Theatre behind a Temple Church.
Later on, in the game, you will meet a nefarious group of powerful vampires in the West-end of London. This group has tasked itself to protect London from the shadows. They will send you on a quest to save London from an epidemic. This place is named Temple Church where you will find Usher.
Underneath the church, you will find Usher. Upon conversating with him, he will give you an investigation mission to retrieve his notebook for the theatre. Following the instructions, you will have to return to the Theatre, but do not worry; the storyline itself will lead you there.
Once in the theatre, head to the basement to find the safe that holds Usher’s journal that he has tasked you to recover. Initially, you will find enemies on the ground floor who will have respawned after you return from the basement. However, this time they hold the key. Kill them all to get the key that opens the safe in the basement.
Once you have obtained it, return to the safe and unlock it to find Usher’s notebook inside. This is important, do not open or read the notebook. Just simply return to Usher and hand it over to him. Upon receiving it, he will give you a collectible. However, if you read the journal before returning, he will give you nothing.
That collectible is the Origin of the Brotherhood that displays a particular pattern or symbol that is random so would be different for many players. This will be for a small room near Usher.
In the basement of the church, you will find a locked underground passage. Moreover, to open it, you will have to solve a puzzle and it will open up the Dragonbane chamber. This quest will lead you to find the most powerful weapon in Vampyr and earn you the Trophy/Achievement Bloody Roots.
The collectible will help you solve the puzzle that you can discover just before you enter the basement. You can interact with these four slates. Within the same piece of collectible, that Usher gave you, can find some symbol with dots on them.
Dots indicate the order in which you should step on the slates. So two dots would mean second order and so on. Use this understanding of the dotted patterns to step on the tiles correctly to open a secret door.
You can also bypass the puzzle to access the room with an alternate method. However, this not actually an alternative as this can only be achieved if the city is hostile. In that state, you can break through the wall of the room to get in. Usually, though, Jonathan is unable to break walls but once the city is hostile, you will have that option.
However, doing this will not earn the achievement. You will only get access to the sword but no achievement will be received.
Heading inside collect the Dragonbane Sword and a note titled Recollections of Paulus Aurelianus. Right after this, you will unlock the Achievement/Trophy for your hard work.
