(Spoiler) Guardians Will Buy Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC To Avenge The Death Of Cayde-6?

Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC trailer was shown at the Sony conference at E3 2018 and it seems that the people that wanted the darker side of Destiny 2 have got what they asked for. If you do not want any spoilers then be sure not to read on as I do not want to spoil the story for any fellow guardian.

It is with a lot of pain that I must tell you that in the trailer of Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC, Cayde-6 has been brutally executed and we also see his ghost getting shot at as well. A guardian needs his ghost to come back and seeing how the first bullet was shot at the ghost, the second bullet is most likely the last thing that Cayde-6 saw.

The killer seems to be Prince Uldren Sov, who is not back. We shall find out the exact details regarding why he is doing all this when Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC comes out but if I was to take a guess, I would say that he has made an arrangement with the criminals locked in the prison to follow him and in return he will not only free them but will kill the guardians as well.

Bungie knows that the community has moved on from the game and that needs to be a plot twist that brings the guardians back. That forces guardians to put on their boots, grab their weapons and come back. Killing Cayde-6 is a calculated move. I would like to add that while this move has great potential to bring the community back, it can also backfire.

Cayde-6 is a character that is dear to me when it comes to Destiny 2. I have been part of the universe for a little more than a year now and seeing Cayde-6 getting shot sent a shiver down my spine. I can only imagine what older players of the franchise must have felt.

This is a move that Bungie can make only once. It will either be great or it can go terribly wrong. Cayde-6 was the best character in the game for me. I would not feel the same way if they had killed the other members of the vanguard.

Cayde-6 is unique and I for one am willing to buy Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC, just to put a bullet in Prince Uldren Sov. Watching him put the Ace of Spades in his holster was just painful to look at. I am hoping that I can have the same gun when I pull the trigger. I so want to kill him with the same gun.

The thing with Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC is that it has to have meaning. Cayde-6 is a character that is near and dear to all guardians and his death will not be taken likely. Bungie, if you are reading this, if Cayde-6 dies in vain and it was all for nothing and just so that you can get more concurrent players, then you can kiss Destiny 2 goodbye.

At its core, Destiny 2 is a pretty dark game but it was pretty happy go luck till now. Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC bring the dark side of the game into the mainstream and that can be a good thing. I hope that Bungie can do justice to the Destiny 2 Forsaken DLC and make the fans happy, keeping in mind the big loss that the community has gone through.

Shortly after the debut of the trailer, Bungie’s Scott Taylor and Steve Cotton were on the YouTube E3 show with Geoff Keighley who asked the two developers if Cayde really is dead for good. Taylor responded jokingly at first: “He looks dead. He does not look good.” And then he said flat out, “He’s dead. He is dead.”

I have included tweets of people reacting to the death of Cayde-6 and I am sure that there are plenty of other guardians that are just like me and are foolish enough to fall for this marketing gimmick just to avenge Cayde-6.
