Vampyr is a new title developed by the studio behind Life is Strange. It is a solid title by the developers and they approach that they are taken to develop the game is very unique.
You take control of Jonathan Reid is freshly out of service from World War I and also happens to be a fresh vampire. Taking the role of a doctor and a vampire at the same time creates a very unique RPG experience.
Vampyr Prologue Walkthrough
In this chapter, you will be introduced to Jonathan Reid and most of the basic game mechanics including combat, dodging and crafting. You will also get to know a bit about the plot of the game.
The game starts with a cutscene. When the cutscene ends, you will be in control. You must follow the blood trail and find the woman. When you find her, interact by pressing the button on the screen and a cutscene will start.
Watch the entire cutscene where Jonathan will get to know of his dark side.
After the cutscene, head straight ahead and go up the stairs. Follow the path through the alley by keeping to the right side. Keep running through the passageways until you reach a stack of barrels.
Find the corpse there and pull out the knife when prompted.
Once you have the knife, destroy the barricades and head straight, following the path. When you encounter three enemies, your combat tutorial will begin.
Follow the game’s instructions to learn about combat mechanics such a dodging, switching targets and attacking enemies.
A cutscene will start afterwards and when it is over, make your way straight ahead. Kill the enemy in your way holding a gun and enter the building with the sign ‘Keep Out’.
Inside you can explore the area and interact with a bunch of items around the place. Go down to find Fire and Sun collectible item. Pick up everything that you can here.
Interact with the picture on the table and then head upstairs to get the gun. You will see another flashback at this point. At this point, Jonathan will give a little hint about the future of the game when he says ‘Killing is a Hell of a lot easier than Healing’.
This is pointing to the difficulty of the game as the game becomes easier if Jonathan feeds on more citizens.
Once you are done with the exploration, lie on the bed where Jonathan will attempt to kill himself but sleep instead. When you wake up, you can learn your first skill.
You will also have plenty of experience at this point so you can look for more skills as well. Purchase the abilities that you want to and then accept. This will conclude the chapter.
