Hitman 2 Announced, Includes New Co-Op Sniper Mode

Hitman 2 has been announced a few hours ago by Warner Bros. All eyes were focused on the company’s reveal live stream today, which was rumored to be related to Mortal Kombat, however, a “known bald agent” has entered the scene instead.

The original news is that Hitman 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on November 13th. Pre-orders are already available with one basic and three special editions to suit each taste. If you pre-order you get access to a new mode called Hitman: Sniper Assassin to play both solo and co-op, inspired by the Hitman Sniper mobile title.

What is Hitman 2 about though? The new title will be somewhat different than its predecessor since it drops its episodic character. Storywise, Hitman 2 will follow Agent 47 as he hunts the “elusive” Shadow Client. Where everything is covered with mystery though is when Warner Bros claims that everything changes when Agent 47 “learns the hidden truth about his past”. The game will be set all around the globe

Interestingly, Hitman 2 has leaked a couple of days ago, as the official Twitter account of Hitman game sent out a cryptic message that reveals a countdown towards something being announced on June 7.

IO Interactive was owned by Square Enix before they sold it to Warner Bros. The previous “owners” of the project decided to let IO Interactive go so that the Hitman franchise can have a future, since they had plans for other projects at that time, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and an unannounced Marvel title.

Hitman 2 is the product of the collaboration between Warner Bros and IO Interactive and is releasing this Fall, on November 13th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game will also feature two expansions with new locations, missions, sniper maps, outfits, and weapons. Note that if you buy the Gold or the Collector’s Edition of Hitman 2 you’ll get four days of play before everyone else, starting on November 9th.
