Gearbox To Show New 1v1 Shooter At E3 Instead Of Borderlands 3

Borderlands have been in news a lot lately and everyone was waiting for the moment to hear that Borderlands 3 is in works and will be present at E3 but it’s not going to happen according to the recent reports.

Borderlands fan will be disappointed to know that Gearbox will be showing a game at E3 but it’s not Borderlands 3 instead it’s a top secret game which is as of now being called a 1v1 shooter game and card game hybrid.

The new 1v1 Project shooter announced last year is more of a hybrid between first-person shooters and collectible card games like Hearthstone.

No footage of Project 1v1 will be present outside the closed presentation rooms of Gearbox at E3 but we will get to know more about the game afterward as in the form of written impressions. Project 1v1 is not the final of the game which also said to be revealed at E3 this year.

Description of Project 1v1 as provide by Gearbox is:

Project 1v1 is the code name for Gearbox’s top-secret, in-development, competitive first-person shooter that combines the action of fast-paced 1v1 first-person combat with the metagame strategy of a collectible card game.

Gearbox has been known lately for abandoning the titles which the audience is interested and instead to work on new experimental titles.

Well, it’s clear that Borderlands 3 is out of sight for now but we still have some good news for Borderlands 3 as The Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee posted a list recently which includes a title called Borderlands GOTY Edition which tells us that Gearbox could be secretly working on the remastered version of the game.

E3 is just a few days away and that’s when we will know whether Gearbox surprises us all by showing Borderlands 3 or at least the remastered version of the original Borderlands game.
