Speaking of Nvidia GPUs, Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of Nvidia has noted that next-gen Nvidia GPUs are a log way off from now.
During the press conference at Computex 2018 in Taipei, Nvidia focused only on HGX platform for AI and the SoC Xavier and didn’t even touch the subject of next-gen Nvidia GPUs.
However, when asked about the next-gen GPU Huang replied that currently, GPUs are available at their intended MSRP and added that GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti are the best gaming GPUs out there.
However, this statement might indicate that next-gen GPUs from Nvidia will not be released in their usual release window which is July as Stuart Oberman will be talking at Hot Chips 30 about the Next Generation Mainstream GPUs from Nvidia.
The presentation will take place on August 20th, 2018, which might indicate that Nvidia will be rolling out its next-gen GPUs, presumably GTX 1180 or GTX 2080, by then.
