AMD Vega 20 Based On 7 nm With 32 GB Of HBM2 Memory To Be Unveiled At Computex 2018

Computex 2018 ha begun, however, AMD’s press conference is yet to take place but before that happens a report has made its way on the internet suggesting that AMD Vega 20 with 32 GB Of HBM2 memory and based on 7 nm process will be unveiled at Computex 2018.

The report comes from Tweaktown who claims that an industry source has revealed it to them that AMD Vega 20 with 32 GB Of HBM2 memory will be unveiled at Computex 2018.

According to the report, the AMD Vega 20 will be based on the new 7nm node along with fixing many of the problems and mistakes with Vega 10. However, the Vega 20 will be for professional/workstation markets.

While the source didn’t reveal the price for the Vega 20 but emphasized that it would be expensive and will be revealed at AMD’s press conference at Computex 2018 which will take place on Wednesday.

Speaking of the GPUs, Nvidia’s press conference for the Computex 2018 has already taken place and Nvidia CEO has noted that next-gen Nvidia GPUs are a long way off from now.

During the press conference at Computex 2018 in Taipei, Jen-Hsun Huang, CEO of Nvidia focused only on HGX platform for AI and the SoC Xavier and didn’t even touch the subject of next-gen Nvidia GPUs.

In related news, AMD has confirmed that its Zen 2 architecture is complete and will be based on the 7 nm process. However, GlobalFoundries has noted that AMD’s 7 nm demand will be higher compared to their supply capacity.

Also, a report has made its way to the internet suggesting that 12-16 Core AMD Ryzen CPUs will be dropping in 2019. Furthermore, the sources emphasized that 12 Core AMD Ryzen CPUs for the AM4 chipset will be the most likely outcome in 2019.

With Zen 2 architecture true based on 7 nm process already complete and if the rumor is true then we might see AMD Ryzen CPUs with 12-16 cores based on Zen 2 architecture.
