Nintendo has been supporting its hybrid console with games and constant firmware updates that bring fixes for the console. Now Nintendo has rolled out Nintendo Switch Update 5.1.0 brings improvements and stability to general systems.
Apart from bringing “General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience” the Nintendo Switch Update 5.1.0 brings nothing else and if it does then Nintendo has not specified what it is.
Speaking of the Nintendo Switch, the hybrid console has managed to top the sales chart in Japan this week again. According to the charts, Nintendo Switch sold over 36,000 units this week in Japan.
Interestingly, the hybrid console has managed to remain on top in spite of the fact that top four software slots have been taken, by the new PlayStation releases.
Furthermore, Nintendo has confirmed that there will be no virtual console for Switch.
According to Nintendo, there are no plans for a virtual console on Switch but that doesn’t mean it won’t be able to run older titles as Switch Online service will bring classic NES games to Nintendo Switch.
Furthermore, with Switch being extremely successful one would assume that Nintendo will finally drop the support for the 3DS, however, Nintendo has noted that it will support 3DS until Switch becomes a one-per-person system.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima noted that despite 3DS being 7 years old is still being supported by Nintendo because it is cheaper compared to Switch and that makes it easier for parents to but this handheld for their children.
