Trying to find news about the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a task as tricky as trying to boil the ocean. Square Enix and the developing team are extremely secretive about it so you get why we might be excited about getting a glimpse of a new in-game screenshot, seen on Naoki Hamaguchi’s desktop.
It’s true that this is not some big news that you should get extremely excited about, however, it’s something to keep us waiting. Over the last three years, both the developers and publishers offer close to none information about Final Fantasy 7 Remake to fans, which makes them even more excited when something actually pops up. The latest screenshot is not an official one but is instead seen on a photo of Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi as he plays the game or watches a trailer of it.
It’s not only the existence of this screenshot that gets us hyped but also the content of it. This new Final Fantasy 7 Remake shows Cloud facing the Airbreaker, the famous boss during the assault on Reactor 5. Even though the resolution and graphical fidelity of the picture is not good enough, you can get a sense of how the development of the game is holding up.
Latest rumors about Final Fantasy 7 Remake come from Hamaguchi as well. As he revealed, a lot is hanging on the next event – possibly talking about E3 2018 – and that they’re hoping to show off the game by then. Furthermore, the team wants to keep polishing the game for the Final Fantasy 35th anniversary, which is actually in 2023. Hamaguchi, however, pointed out that that’s a long way off so we shouldn’t wait until 2023 to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake. At least we hope so.
Do you think we’ll be able to see Final Fantasy 7 Remake at E3 2018 this year? Are you still excited about the project or are you getting tired of waiting?
