The PS4 has been out for a long time now and while the console is coming to the end of its life cycle, that has not stopped companies from designing and producing peripherals for the console. Here we have the Scuf Vantage controller that is kind of like the Elite controller for the Xbox One. The Scuf Vantage Controller has been designed in partnership with Sony for the PS4.
It is interesting to note that this is the same company that designed the Xbox One Elite controller for Microsoft so there is a bit of similarity between the two. Scuf CEO Duncan Ironmonger, talked about the Scuf Vantage controller and the following is what he had to say about the controller:
“As a company, we’re about creating increased hand use. If you think about keyboard and mouse, it’s about maximum hand use and multiple functions; we’re trying to level that playing field, which is why so many people use [our controllers] in the competitive community.”
The controller is a bit bulky and there is a bit of weight to it. If you are used to the standard DualShock controller then this is something that you will notice. The grips have a rubber texture, which makes them very comfortable in the hands and keeps the controller from slipping out of your hands. You can check out images of the controller below.
The four paddles on the back of the controller are mapped to the front buttons but they can be remapped according to your play style and preference. This feature allows the player to keep their thumbs on the joysticks at all times. The controller will cost you $170 or $200 depending on whether you get the wired or wireless option. While the controller is a bit pricey, it up to you to decide whether or not it is worth investing in.
