One of the staple multiplayer maps of the Treyarch Call of Duty titles is the Nuketown series. Originally a map taking place on a nuclear test site, the map has evolved with the timeline of the games, and now it appears that a Black Ops 4 Nuketown remake is coming as well.
With all of the new things that Black Ops 4 will be able to do with no story mode, there’s no telling what sort of stuff that Treyarch will be able to fit into the game. However, as a staple of the Black Ops games, Nuketown will always find a place in the hearts of both the developers and the players.
The hint that we would be getting a Black Ops 4 Nuketown remake comes from a Twitter exchange between two members of Treyarch, Adam Hoggatt and David Vonderhaar. Whether Vonderhaar’s response means we’ll be getting a new Nuketown map or not, it seems highly unlikely that we won’t. However, if we do get a new version of Nuketown, there’s no telling what Treyarch will add to it.
There’s also the possibility of the map having multiple different versions in the game, such as when it was made into a Zombies map in addition to a regular multiplayer map in one of the previous Call of Duty Black Ops games. Fitting with the different modes it was in, the maps were different cosmetically, with the regular multiplayer place being bright and sunny while the Zombies version was destroyed.
While there’s no confirmation that we’re getting a Black Ops 4 Nuketown remake, with it having been a map in all three different Call of Duty Black Ops games before it, there’s a lot of evidence to suggest that that map will be coming soon.
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be releasing on October 12 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
