Our Battle Chaser: Nightwar Deep in the Mire Guide will tell you all that there is to know about the Deep in the Mire side quest in Nightwar in a step-by-step manner so that you can collect all of the rewards that this quest offers.
Battle Chaser: Nightwar Deep in the Mire
Get to the sewers at the Tavern and look towards the north to examine an abandoned desk. After that, head south to find a ladder and examine the skeleton at the top of it. Head north after that as there is a shack in the south that cannot be accessed.
You will see a lot of Green Slime Clones in the tunnels here and you need to take care of them all. Remember to access the first locked gate even if you have already accessed it before since there is a treasure chest waiting for you right behind it (a brand new one).
You will see a pair of open tunnels that were previously blocked by debris. Enter the tunnel opposite to the lever and interact with the mouse to help it and receive ‘Max the Mouse’.
After that, go down the second tunnel to find a workbench where you can use Max the Mouse to get a Ring of Junniah. Once you have it, head to the right side of the sewer system with the locked gate. As soon as you enter the room with the locked gate, a boss fight will begin.
How to Defeat the Sludge Mound
The Slude Mound can deal damage either with the Solid Sludge that has a single target and does massive damage or it can deal damage using Putrid Salvo that deals a small amount of damage to all heroes and inflicts poison onto them.
Since it has this deadly combination of attacks and can stack its poison, you will once again need Calibretto as you did when dealing with the Fire Lord to remove all of the debuffs.
Not only that, you will need to have Garrison use the bleeding debuffs as much as possible along with either Knolan or Gully as the main character. Defeating the sludge mound is pretty much the same as defeating the Fire Lord and you should follow the same strategy.
Once you defeat the Sludge Mount, you will receive a Solidified Sludge Core along with smaller loot. You can speak with Doran at the Tavern to get a Stonewall Plating Mark 2. If you return to Beastmaster Raha, you will also receive Stinking Robes, 500 Gold, and 12 Shadow Coins.
