Battlefield 5 Officially Revealed, First Look Next Week

We already knew that a new Battlefield title is coming this year but no information as to what its name and content it would include was officially announced until now. Today, Electronic Arts revealed that the upcoming FPS title will be Battlefield 5 and will have its live reveal on May 23rd.

The reveal poster for Battlefield 5 is minimal and don’t give out any details. EA calls it the “next chapter of EA DICE’s groundbreaking all-out war saga” with more information coming on May 23rd. The live reveal will be available to watch on Youtube, Twitch, Mixer and Battlefield’s website.

The logo shown on the feed is the same that VentureBeat revealed a while back which as they report, could not mean 5 but “Vee” as in “V for Victory” in World War 2, which is rumored to be its setting.

Battlefield 1 released in October 2016 so an October 2018 release window for Battlefield 5 seems highly likely. With Call of Duty Black Ops 4 releasing this October, it’s almost sure that we’ll get to see Battlefield 5 getting released around that time. The game will arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Battlefield 5 will feature a new mode which will be unique and new challenges, with multiple maps and modes for online multiplayer and single-player campaign.

As for its content, Battlefield 5 will be Bad Company 3 or World War 2 shooter. Fortunately, we won’t have to wait until E3 2018 to find that out. Make sure to check Electronic Arts and DICE’s live reveal on May 23rd.

Electronic Arts’ show at E3 2018 is set for Saturday, June 9 – 2:00 p.m. Most likely Battlefield 5 will be available for testing at the venue since it won’t get revealed at that time.

Battlefield 5 is expected to release this fall on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. To find out more make sure to check out the live reveal stream on May 23 at 1 PM PT / 4 PM ET / 9 PM BST (2 PM AET).
