In celebration of Guilty Gear’s 20th anniversary, Today Arc System works announced in a press release that they are bringing the original Guilty Gear to modern consoles.
The game will be released for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game originally launched on PlayStation One in Japan on May 14, 1988, making its 20th anniversary of the series today.
The original Guilty Gear had different modes including arcade, training mode and versus mode. You’ll get to play once again with characters like Zato-1, Sol Badguy, Testament, Ky Kiske, May, Millia Rage, Potemkin, Axl Low, Baiken, Chipp, Faust as Dr. Baldhead and Justice.

Guilty Gear series has shown its presence as one of the 2D versus fighting games. This game is a port of the first “GUILTY GEAR”, which was liked by many fans with a unqie novel system gameplay.
It is a different color game that always produces a nervous battle with a “murderous” system which can end fights in a single blow. You will enjoy the first generation of “GUILTY GEAR” that became the origin of this series on the latest and current generation hardware. Arc System Works has not yet revealed a release date for the game so stay tuned as we get more information about the game in the future.
In other news, Guilty Gear series creator Daisuke Ishiwatari has said that the next Guilty Gear game will probably be easier with less complicated systems to make it accessible to gamers wanting to get into a fighting game.
