Battlefield 2018 Will Offer Multiple Single Player Stories, War Stories Continue

It seems Battlefield 2018 is going to continue in the footsteps of Battlefield 1 in terms of single-player mode. According to EA’s Andrew Wilson, the game will feature compelling single-player stories. “Stories” being the keyword here, plural.

During this event, Andrew Wilson spoke about Battlefield 2018’s single-player stories which led us to the conclusion that War Stories are coming back.

Battlefield 1 featured multiple short stories that tried to present the horrors of World War 1 at a grand scale. While the idea was promising, the stories lacked depth but with Battlefield 2018 EA DICE could do better. EA ran its quarterly investor’s call to speak about future games and plans.

Not only we are looking at the possible return of War Stories but this year’s Battlefield could be different from what we have become accustomed to over the years. According to Wilson, Battlefield 2018 is inspired by “DICE’s core DNA” which indicates that we may be going old school in terms of gameplay design, similar to what early Battlefield games were used to be. Still, the statement is vague and all it does is boost speculations.

Last but not the least, it was mentioned that the next Battlefield will build on the success of Battlefield 1, a widely successful title in the series. The game was set in World War 1 and rumor has it that the next game is heading to World War 2.

A full showcase is expecting at EA PLAY next month but a teaser should be out any day now. There is a lot of discussing around the next Battlefield so EA would have to bring its A-game to live up to the hype. According to a recent tease by EA DICE, Battlefield 2018 will “never be the same.”
