BioWare is previously known for its single player games but this time it was more focused on the multiplayer side with their upcoming game, Anthem. BioWare has revealed that multiplayer is the big focus of the game but still the game is playable in solo.
This was revealed in a blog post from the BioWare boss Casey Hudon, who presented the mission statement for the upcoming game by saying they “create worlds of adventure, conflict, and companionship that inspire you to become the hero of your story”. Hudson also talked about how Anthem is different from the games BioWare has created before.
Hudson mentioned that they received great feedback from the players who were worried about singleplayer and what if they don’t want to play with randoms. He said:
With Anthem, we’re taking this problem head-on and structuring the entire game design to provide a specific solution for this. We’ll be sharing details on how it works very soon. We think it creates a unique experience where you have control over your own story, but your story is set in an ever-changing multiplayer world. And yes, even though Anthem is meant to bring out the best parts of playing as part of an online community, you can choose to play through the story with only your friends, or even on your own.
In simple terms, Hudson said that the reason so many people are concerned about whether these things are possible in a multiplayer game or not is because this has never been done successfully before.
We have yet to witness how the company decides on doing that, so we will have to wait till EA Play where we will see the gameplay in action.
In Other news, EA recently announced that BioWare’s Anthem Will Launch In March 2019 and there will be different playstyles available in the game.
