It has been several months since a commitment was made to reveal the official costume worn by the titular superhero in Shazam! for the public. Since the project wrapped up filming this week and will enter post-production soon, fans have once again started wondering about the promise being fulfilled.
Taking to Twitter earlier today, director David F. Sandberg revealed that plans to showcase actor Zachary Levi (Shazam) in his glorious outfit were changed along the way for unknown reasons. The focus is currently on the movie itself and he has no clue about when Warner Bros. intends to reveal the costume.
Plans changed from what I’d been told. I don’t know what the current plans are. I’m now just focusing on making a good movie and trying not to talk about things before I’m supposed to talk about them.

There have already been a few leaks from production sets that give fans a look at the costume. It goes without saying that the final version, complete with special effects and magical editing, will undoubtedly appear very different.
There have been strong rumors that Henry Cavill (Superman) will be making a cameo in some capacity. Both Superman and Shazam have come into contact several times in the comic books. In fact, the alter ego of Shazam, William Joseph “Billy” Batson, greatly idolizes the Kryptonian and aspires to be just like him.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who is serving as an executive producer on the movie, is also rumored to be making a cameo as the arch nemesis Black Adam. The wrestler-turned-actor will be becoming the antagonist in his own standalone installment in the future but an appearance could be made beforehand.
Shazam! is set to be released in theaters worldwide on April 5, 2019.
