There are a few more villainous entities being prepped for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the foreseeable future. The untitled sequel to Avengers: Infinity War, presently dubbed Avengers 4, will apparently see the Skrulls come out of hiding for a good old fashion invasion.
Take heed that the following content might possibly contain major spoilers, unless knowing the future does not bother you.
According to a new report from MCU Cosmic earlier today, the post-credits scene in Avengers: Infinity War had nothing to do with Thanos and his Infinity Stones.
The reason behind Nick Fury sending an emergency signal to Captain Marvel is because he thought that the Skrulls were invading Earth, mainly in part because both of them have faced the same threat before in the timeline. This is going to tie in with the upcoming Captain Marvel (2019) installment that is set in the ’90s and will introduce the menacing alien race for the first time.
In addition, a rumor floating about may actually explain the absence of Hawkeye in Avengers: Infinity War and connect the dots for the Skrulls invading in Avengers 4. The bowman is said to be hunting down the Yakuza in Tokyo, Japan, who are actually Skrulls in disguise.
For those unaware, the Skrulls have the ability to shapeshift and have for long been bent on invading Earth by replacing influential members of society. With Thanos snapping his fingers, Earth has been left pretty much unguarded. Hence, the Skrulls may take advantage of the situation and start marching out of the shadows.
Avengers: Infinity War is now running in theaters worldwide and will open in China on May 11. The highly anticipated installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been reassessed to end up becoming the highest-grossing comic book adaptation of all time in the worldwide box office.
The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.
