Steam Summer Sale 2018 Start Date Has Been Leaked

Steam is the biggest marketplace for digital PC games which also happens to offer discounts to PC gamers all the time, however, the Steam Summer Sale is an event that all PC gamers wait for and it seems that Steam Summer sale 2018 date has been leaked.

The leak comes from the Steam Database, who revealed that the Steam Summer Sale 2018 will start on June 21, 2018, which is the usual date on which the summer sale starts on Steam. However, given that it is just a leak, so take it with a grain of salt.

Speaking of Steam, PUBG item trading on Steam has been disabled by PUBG Cop. According to the devs, the reason why the item trading has been disabled on Steam is due to the fact that the system is being abused.

Furthermore, Valve has now added Nintendo Switch pro controller support to Steam.

According to Valve, they are pleased to add the Nintendo Switch pro controller support to Steam and believe that the d-pad is ideal for fighting games and platformers.

Also, recently Valve made some changes to Steam’s privacy policy that cuts off the primary stream of data on which SteamSpy depends.

However, SteamSpy creator Sergey Galyonkin developed a new algorithm to keep Steamspy alive. According to Galyonkin, the new algorithm for its service uses the coincidental data on games and machine learning.

However, he added that the new algorithm is “not very accurate” and there is approx. 10% margin for all games that he tested for the new algorithm.

I will keep on iterating the new algorithm while slowly bringing back the core functions of SteamSpy. It will take some time and it’s still possible that Valve will make another move to shutdown the service, but until that happens, SteamSpy will continue to operate.
