For a while now we have seen inflated prices of Nvidia graphics cards and while prices have come back down again they are still not at MSRP in most places. We talked about how Nvidia Volta would help decrease the prices and bring them back to MSRP but it is also possible that a new shipment of Nvidia graphics cards supply could lower the prices as well.
Nvidia went on Twitter and only posted “Supply run” this could mean plenty of things but it suggests that another batch of Nvidia graphics cards are headed our way and that is good news if you have been waiting for prices to go down. If you are in the market for a new graphics card then you might want to wait a little longer. You can check out the tweet below.
GPU pricing and inflation is simple demand and supply if you think about it. The price went up because of the miners that bought all the GPUs that they could get their hands on. That means the demand was high while the supply was the same. Keeping that in mind, because there was only a hand full of graphics cards left on the market, people were willing to pay more in order to get their hands on one and hence the inflation of Nvidia graphics cards.
This was not exclusive to Nvidia cards, AMD GPUs perform better when mining and that is one of the reasons why while prices of Nvidia GPUs are coming down AMD graphics cards are still pretty expensive.
