Xbox Live Rewards will be becoming Microsoft Rewards in June, so if you have any remaining Xbox Live Rewards points left you’d best spend them quickly. Players will have until May 31 to to earn reward credits, MyVIP Gems, and new MyVIP perks, and will have until June 15 to redeem gems.
Microsoft Rewards will be giving Xbox users points for using the Xbox and its services, whether it’s purchasing content and apps off the Xbox Live Store, using Bing to search for things on their Xbox One, or completing things like quizzes. Doing all of this will get you points that you can spend on rewards.
Xbox One users will earn 20 points for every dollar spent on games, apps, movies, and more through the reward program, whether it’s on the Xbox, a Windows PC, or online. Players will eventually also be rewarded for shopping at retail Microsoft locations, buying movies and TV shows, and digital games, as said above.
These points will be able to be redeemed in exchange for gift cards and various sweepstakes entries, along with marketplace credit, Xbox Live Gold membership, store vouchers, or can be donated to nonprofit organizations as cash.
In order to earn Microsoft points, all you have to do is be logged into your Microsoft account, and be part of the rewards program, in order to earn points. Then, all you have to do is just use your Xbox like you normally would, searching the internet, buying games, or renting movies and TV shows.
Currently Microsoft Rewards is available in the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, and Singapore, but 11 more countries will be getting the service sometime soon.
So, once again, if you’re an Xbox Live Rewards member and still have points left over, get on with spending them, otherwise you’ll lose them when the switch happens.
