As with all online expansions, the Destiny 2 level cap will be going up when the new DLC Warmind releases next week. The cap will be increasing to 30, five above the level cap increase that came with the Curse of Osiris DLC several months ago, and that’s a big jump to Destiny players.
Warmind will be returning players to Mars, the home of the Warmind Rasputin, whom we’ve been interacting with ever since the first days of Destiny. Players will be traveling to the Hellas Basin in order to battle Hive that have been hidden beneath the ice for hundreds of years, and who now threaten Rasputin.
Players will be guided through the DLC’s story by Hunter Ana Bray, who is somehow related to the Golden Age corporation Clovis Bray. In addition to the upping of the Destiny 2 level cap, we’ll also likely be getting new strikes to go through, a new Raid to attempt, new weapons, and new armor that will hopefully satisfy us for a few weeks while we try to get all of it.
At the same time, however, Warmind has a lot to live up to. Destiny 2’s first DLC, Curse of Osiris, was a rather lackluster experience for many gamers due to the lack of a real patrol zone on Venus and with most of the new strikes in that expansion being recycled story levels. While we did get a raid in a sense, it was just the Leviathan again in a different part of that massive vessel, rather than a new location.
Considering we’re going to Mars, which has already been hinted to have a lot buried away throughout all of the original Destiny, hopefully the Warmind DLC will be able to live up to all of the potential Curse of Osiris had, and then some.
You’ll be able to get to the new Destiny 2 level cap when the Warmind DLC drops on May 8 for Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
