Bandai Namco has announced the network test for Dark Souls Remaster which will be held on PS4 and Xbox One from May 11th to 12th. According to From Software, it’s a network test for the game server function verification.
This network test is a preliminary verification test that will allow the general public to play games as a tester prior to the official release of the game which is on May 25.
The company will be conducting this large-scale network load test to check various functions of the online system in the game.
This network test is free for testing to improve the network quality of this product.
This test will be live on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One version and will be carried out twice in total. Everyone can participate in the network test as long as you have the above target device.
The starting time period for Japan and North America are:
- May 11 from 19:00 to 22:00 JST
- May 12 from 19:00 to 22:00 JST
- May 11 from 6:00 to 12:00 am PT
- May 12 from 6:00 to 12:00 am PT
The network test client is already available for download on Japanese PlayStation and Xbox Store and for North America it will be available sometime today.
To get access to the network test all you will have to do is download the client from each store during the period mentioned above. You can download the client until May 7 and it is around 3.18 Gb in size if you are wondering.
Dark Souls had a plan to release network test for the Nintendo Switch too but for some reason, it got delayed and will be now held at a later date.

Dark Souls Remaster is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 on May 25, 2018.
