The upcoming Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG game has a lot of hype around it and it was expected to come out in 2018 but according to new information, it is possible that the game might not be coming out this year after all. The financial earnings call has revealed some new information regarding upcoming releases and the Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG game has been listed as 2018-19.
Super Smash Bros has been locked in for 2018 and Metroid Prime 4 release date has yet to be disclosed. According to the numbers Nintendo expects to sell 20 million Nintendo Switch units this year and for that to happen they need a reasonable number of first-party and third-party titles. Keeping that in mind it is possible that the Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG game could indeed be coming out this year in order to justify those high expected numbers.
You also need to keep in mind that last years sales were backed by games like Super Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Splatoon 2. These games will continue to sell as more people buy the console but the momentum will drop. The numbers included in the financials are usually conservative unless the company is confident that the numbers can be achieved.
Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG game, Super Smash Bros and a combination of third-party titles could lead to Nintendo meeting the expected goals. It is also possible that the game will not be ready in time, so fingers crossed. We will need to wait and see what happens and how Nintendo is going to deal with the goal that they have planned out. It should be rather interesting.
You can also expect to see some new games announced at E3 2018 and there is a chance that we will get a look at the Nintendo Switch Pokemon RPG game at the event.
