Nvidia Game Ready Driver “GeForce 397.31 WHQL” Causing PCs To Go Into Infinite Reset Loop

Nvidia just rolled out GeForce 397.31 WHQL game ready driver for Frostpunk and Battletech which also introduces Nvidia RTX Ray Tracing for Volta GPUs, however, users have reported that the latest Nvidia Game Ready driver is causing their PCs to go into an infinite reset loop.

Nvidia users took it to the forums to make their voice heard as the latest Nvidia Game Ready driver, GeForce 397.31 WHQL, is making their systems to go into an infinite reset loop.

From the looks of it, those who own a GTX 1060 are the ones who are facing this issue. The issue pops up during the installation of the Nvidia Game Ready driver which restarts in order to complete the installation, however, instead of completing the installation the user is met with the same screen over and over again.

Nvidia support has taken notice of the issue and is asking its users to be more specific about the issue, especially with regard to GPU model.

Those affected by this latest Nvidia Game ready driver issue can try this workaround in order to get out of the infinite reset loop.

All you need to do is download an older version of Nvidia Driver and restart the system and do it in safe mode and delete the GPU driver, however, if don’t know how to do it then you can do it using the Display Driver Uninstaller software

Once the driver is uninstalled, restart the system and install the downloaded Nvidia driver. We are hopeful that Nvidia will fix this issue soon.

Also, a report has made it to the intenet suggesting that AMD And Nvidia AIB partners expect that the GPU shipments will plunge 40% in April.

According to the report, Gigabyte, MSI, and TUL are expecting the GPU shipments to drop by 40% in April due to cryptocurrency craze coming to an end.
