New PUBG Update Increases Limb Shot Damage, Shotguns Buffed, Mape Selection Added

New PUBG update is out and it increases damage to limbs. No longer you have to target the head in order to cause significant damage to your enemies. According to the patch notes, players will now be able to cause more damage to arms and legs.

Moreover, the 2.7GB update makes your shotguns more powerful. Shotguns have been underpowered for a while and their spread is unfairly set. However, based on community feedback developers are making some changes to the shotguns. Fortunately, this update add does add the awaited map selection feature. Devs have already explained why it is taking so long but it is finally here.

The shotgun spread has been reduced by 25% and damage is increased but we don’t know how much. Here are the patch notes (translated by Reddit).

Pistols:

Damage increased for P92, P1911, P18C, R1895, and R45

Shotguns:

Increased damage on limb shots

Decreased damage on S686 and S1897, spread reduced by 25%

Sawed-off can now equip choke.

SMG:

Increased damage on limb shots

Micro UZI, UMP, Vector damage slightly decreased

Reduced vertical recoil

Faster ADS

Less shaking/recoil when moving while in ADS

AR:

Decreased damage on all 5.56 rifles.

Reload time increased by 30% for M16A4, SCAR-L, M416

Reload time decreased by 10% for AKM

Reduced recoil recovery

Every AR except the AKM have greater vetical/horizontal recoil

ARs cannot equip 8x

Added recoil animation

DMR:

Increased damage on body and limb shots.

Decreased damage on SKS

Slightly increased damage on VSS and Mini

Increased vertical/horizontal recoil

Reduced recoil recovery

Added recoil animation.

ETC:

Increased damage on DP28 and M249

Cannot use 8x on DP28 and M249

Crossbow’s reload speed reduced from 4 seconds to 3.5

Grenade:

Explosion damage increased for frag, removed fall damage from frag.

Capacity changes for nades:

Frag: From 12 to 18

Motolov: From 18 to 16

Smoke: From 16 to 14

Stun: From 14 to 12

ADS:

Greater sway during ADS

Sway increased when not holding breath, and slightly increased when holding breath. Cheekpad can reduce sway

Movement balance:

Characters now move slower when holding SR rifles, M249 or DP28.

Aim punch is reduced, but is now proportional to the damage you received.

Item balance:

Level 3 helmets can only be obtained through crates

SR extended quickdraw mags can only be obtained through crates

Reduced the spawn rate of AR extended quickdraw mags

DMRs can now use AR attachments

Adrenaline syringes now spawn on the world map.

Casting time for adrenaline syringes reduced from 8 seconds to 6 seconds.

Map selection added, UI updated.

New Weapon:

SLR. World spawn. 7.62 sniper rifle.

Stronger than SKS, but greater recoil.

Same mag capacity as SKS and accepts extended mag

New vehicle added to Miramar:

Named Mirado, a 4 seater sedan

New attachments:

Duckbillo (S1819, S12K): Increases horizontal spread, decreases vertical spread.

LightGripo (UMP9, AUG, M416, SCAR-L, SKS): Increases vertical/horizontal damage, reduces recoil recovery time.

ThumbGripo(UMP9, AUG, M416, SCAR-L, SKS): Increases horizontal recoil, decreases vertical recoil. Greater recoil recovery time.

HalfGripo(UMP9, Vector, AUG, M416, SCAR-L, SKS): Decreases vertical/horizontal recoil, faster recoil recovery.

Added 3x and 6x. 6x is adjustable from 3x ~ 6x

Red dots, hologram sights and 2x can now change colors and shapes(cross, arrow, etc).

Water:

Breath recovery delay after rising to the surface increased from 1s to 4s.

Breath loss increased in water (with full breath bar, maximum time in water change from 35s to 15s)

Damage from breath loss underwater increased from 4hp/s to 10hp/s.

Also some changes to Miramar, and some bug fixes.
