(Update) H1Z1 PS4 Closed Beta Starts This Weekend With An Open Beta Scheduled For The Next Month

Update #2: Beta has been delayed.

Update: We are trying to get in touch with Daybreak to find out why there was no closed beta held this weekend. Check back for updates.

Original Story: Daybreak Games, the developer, of H1Z1, announced yesterday that H1Z1 the free to play battle royale game famously known for its performance on PC and Xbox is finally making its way to PlayStation 4 with a closed beta for this weekend and an open beta starting on May 22.

H1Z1 on PlayStation 4 will be like the one on PC, Free to play and with microtransactions. It is a standalone battle royale game with all new user interface, new weapon progression system, new gears and equipment for you to use on PS4.

Terrace Yee commented on the H1Z1 for the console by saying:

“H1Z1 on PS4 is true battle royale mayhem. We have reimagined the game for PlayStation 4 and have designed it to accentuate the essentials of battle royale that make the genre so exciting to watch and play. We have added key gameplay differentiators to keep the game frantic and fun — an action shooter’s dream of fast-paced battle royale.”

H1Z1 will probably stay in beta for a while on PS4 and early access, so the Daybreak games can test how the game runs on PS4 and fix any issues that arise during that period before they release the full game. With this closed and open beta, Daybreak Games aims to optimize the game, update contents of the game and make changes for the console gamers if required.

To release and keep running H1Z1 will have to go through many changes as console and PC have a difference gap between them. Developers seem to be confident about the launch of the game as they call it ”Frantic and fun”, full of action and it’s face paced”.

Daybreak Games have also revealed that the game will run at 60 fps on PS4 Pro which is great for the people waiting to try new titles on their powerful console. Sign

It’s really good to see more games making their way from one platform to another and we can’t wait to try out H1Z1 on PS4  with it’s closed beta which you can sign up for here or you can wait for the public beta which is coming on May 22.
