There is finally something exciting for fans to gnaw on in regards to Venom, the upcoming Spider-Man spinoff adaptation.
The leaked footage, embedded below, is pretty grainy but finally shows Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) transforming into the symbiote form. You can listen to his secondary voice as well as the iconic supervillain reminds everyone that “we are Venom” before picking up a possible thug for an old fashioned beatdown.
The snippet has been confirmed to be from a brand new trailer that is scheduled to be released later tonight during CinemaCon at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. It should provide a better and extended look at the fan-favorite character.
Sony Pictures messed up a bit when the first trailer for Venom was released earlier this year, mainly because of the complete absence of the symbiote. It only teased Brock trying to run away from something and fighting an “inner demon” deep inside. However, Venom himself was never shown.
Venom concluded production in January and has been directed by Ruben Fleischer. It primarily draws inspiration from two source materials: Lethal Protector (1993) and Planet of the Symbiotes (1995). The character was initially introduced as a supervillain in the comic books before walking the path of an anti-hero in recent times.
Venom is scheduled to premiere on October 5, 2018. It is only one of several Spider-Man spinoffs in the works. The others include a movie dedicated to Silver and Black that is currently slated for February 2019 and a live-action adaptation of Morbius, the Living Vampire, that is currently without a release date.
