One of Platinum Games’s most popular titles is the Bayonetta series, an epic trilogy of games the eponymous witch that fights angels and demons alike in gloriously over-the-top battles. But even now, when they were already pushing their limits, Platinum Games wants Bayonetta 3 to be a turning point in their style.
Atsushi Inaba and Hideki Kamiya, both major players at Platinum Games, have said that they want the third Bayonetta game to not only have a lot of new stuff in it, but to also be able to top previous entries. Considering the stupidly over-the-top feats that Platinum games normally involve, ranging from the Metal Gear Ray fight in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance to the finales of both previous Bayonetta titles, topping them all in Bayonetta 3 will be a challenge.
There will have to be new gimmicks, new ways to play the game, new enemies, new bosses, and a lot more for the third Bayonetta game to top the previous two, but Platinum is pretty confident that they can do it with the help of their loyal fans. Despite having a rough past few years, with mediocre action games and the cancellation of Scalebound, Nier Automata brought back the Platinum Games that we all know and love.
The loyalty of Platinum fans cause Platinum to push themselves and the boundary of their games further and further, coming up with crazy new game ideas that will result in bigger, crazier, and tighter action games, something that Platinum is very good at producing.
So, hopefully, with Bayonetta 3 coming to the Nintendo Switch and with interest in the game still going strong, Platinum Games can give us what they think we want most in the game, and will be able to top everything that they’ve ever done before. Bayonetta 3 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch sometime soon.
