Hearthstone Game Director Ben Brode Leaves Blizzard

After an amazing period of 15 years, Hearthstone Game Director Ben Brode is leaving Blizzard, but for a good cause. The always-smiling Ben is ready to take his own risks and help create a new game developing company, as Hearthstone is now in capable hands.

Brode has been working on Hearthstone for 10 of his 15 total years at Blizzard and as he states, this wasn’t an easy decision to make. However, it’s time for him to “embark on a new journey” and help create a company of his own. The announcement comes from the Hearthstone forum, where Brode has posted a heartfelt message for all Hearthstone fans whose days he brightened up with that huge smile. In his message he talked about his work at Blizzard:

“I was 20 years old when I started here. My first role was ‘Night Crew Game Tester,” wrote Brode. “Since then, Blizzard has been good to me. I got to cast esports events, announce BlizzCons, play in Rock Bands, write raps, and work with incredible people. But the biggest opportunity came in 2008 when I joined ‘Team 5.’ The Hearthstone Team.”

Furthermore, Hearthstone game director explained how the game is now in safe hands with a team full of potential. They’ll keep on making the game great after the latest expansion, Witchwood. He said:

“I get too much credit by virtue of being a public face, but the 80+ people on the development team are still there, and they are the ones actually making the cards, brawls, events, missions, and features. I am confident the game is in the best possible hands, and I’m excited to see where a new generation of leaders takes Hearthstone from here.”

With this heartfelt message, Ben Brode is finally starting off on his own journey after many years of experience in one of the biggest companies in the industry. We wish him good luck and future success.
