Following the introduction of Cable (Josh Brolin) and formation of the X-Force in recent months, a new trailer has been released to set the final stage for Deadpool 2 ahead of the official premiere in about four weeks.
The new footage is similarly packed with action, snark, profanity, and a few jabs at the DC Extended Universe. However, it is said that the same footage also confirms what the reshoots managed to fix.
It was last month when a report claimed that early test screenings had been met with poor reactions from a select audience. While it was never established as to what was wrong with the sequel, the same source has now stepped forward with clarifications.
According to a new report from MCU Cosmic earlier today, the previous version of the movie killed off the X-Force right after they were formed. This was in a bid to garner a few additional laughs from fans but kind of went the other way during the early test screenings.
The X-Force was originally penned to die after they jumped out of the airplane in that specific scene from the past trailers. They were supposed to land on an enroute prison bus and save Russell (Julian Dennison) from the time-travelling cyborg mutant. However, only Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) survived the fall.
Since the new trailer for Deadpool 2 clearly shows more of the X-Force locked in combat around the same prison bus, it is believed that the reshoots took place to fix their demise.
