Aftershock has announced the latest addition to its line of gaming laptops with Aftershock APEX 15 Ultra-portable gaming laptop which interestingly comes with a built-in mechanical keyboard.
This is the first gaming laptop from Aftershock to feature a mechanical keyboard that uses optical switches and share similar characteristics of a desktop mechanical keyboard but, with one exception which is to rely on light for actuation instead of mechanical connection.
The Aftershock APEX 15 comes with 144Hz AHVA display which is optional and a slim-bezel design with 1080p resolution.
As for the specs, Aftershock APEX 15 gaming laptop features Core i7-8750H, 8GB DDR4 RAM and a GTX 1060.
- 15.6-inch 1,920 x 1,080-pixel IPS display
- Intel Core i7-8750H (2.2GHz, 9MB L3 cache)
- 8GB DDR4-2666 RAM
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
- 250GB Samsung 860 EVO M.2 SSD
There is no doubt this gaming laptop is going to be expensive, however, Aftershock is also offering a GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM variant which is relatively cheaper.
However, one drawback with Aftershock APEX 15 is that it doesn’t offer GPU other than GTX 1060 and GTX 1050, making it a mid-tier gaming laptop, however, the GTX 1060 6 GB variant should be enough for a majority of latest games.
