Ryzen Mobile APU Throttling Fix Improves Performance By 30%

AMD took the CPU and APU market by surprise with its Ryzen APUs and CPUs, however, there is a bit of throttling issue in Ryzen Mobile APU which causes the performance to drop, however, this can be fixed which in turns improves performance by 30%.

The fix for Ryzen Mobile APU throttling comes from Youtuber “TechEpiphany”. He explains the fix for the throttling in Ryzen Mobile APU in the video below which will improve performance by 30% and claims that the throttling is just stupid and AMD can easily fix this.

Speaking on AMD Ryzen, while Ryzen 2000 products haven’t launched yet into the market but some PC enthusiasts have already got their hands on them and are overclocking them to see just how far AMD Ryzen 2000 CPUs can be pushed.

One particular PC enthusiast by the name of “TSAIK” recently submitted his results for overclocking AMD Ryzen 5 2600X and Ryzen 7 2700X at 5.8 GHz across all cores using liquid nitrogen as a colling method.

Furthermore, while Ryzen 2000 products are yet to release but, AMD has confirmed that it is already working on Zen 5 Micro-Architecture. According to lead Zen architect Mike Clark, he is working on Zen 5 mico-architecture.

AMD has also confirmed that it has pulled some of the members of Zen micro-architecture team to its Radeon Graphics department to give its upcoming GPUs a boost in power and performance.

According to Suzanne Plummer, CVP of the Radeon Technologies Group, AMD is using the process that went into the success of Ryzen CPUs to give its upcoming AMD Radeon GPUs a boost in performance.

A lot of what we did in Zen was trying to push well beyond what we thought we could do and I think that is something we’re trying to do in the graphics space as well to make a bigger leap forward.
