Stoic Studios and 505 Games have just announced The Banner Saga Trilogy: Bonus Edition, a compilation of every Banner Saga game that will apparently be exclusively for Xbox One and Playstation 4. It will come out July 24, the same date as The Banner Saga 3 will be releasing on consoles and PC platforms.
The Banner Saga as a whole tells the story of a world in its last days as a creeping darkness works its way across the land, corrupting everything within it and sparking wars as it drives the race of stone golems known as the dredge into lands controlled by humans and the horned giants known as the varl.
Not helping the matter is that the Gods have killed one another, leaving the mortal races with no one to rely on but themselves. The Banner Saga 2 gave us a huge amount of information about the plot (which we can’t go into because of spoilers) but if you haven’t played the series before, you can get the Banner Saga Trilogy: Bonus Edition for Xbox One and Playstation 4 to run through all of the games and get the whole story.
Along with that, the Bonus Edition will come with a good amount of bonus content, such as the soundtrack, a mini art book, a collectible poster, and a special in-game item called the Horn of Lichbaen.
While there’s no telling whether or not the Banner Saga Trilogy: Bonus Edition game will be coming for PC (unlikely since the series could be sold as a bundle on Steam) or the Nintendo Switch, the other main console it’s coming to, hopefully Stoic and 505 Games will give us more information about them in the future.
Either way, both the Banner Saga Trilogy Bonus Edition will be coming out on July 24 alongside the regular version of The Banner Saga 3, so be on the lookout for either one.
