Microsoft Unleashes Free Xbox Avatars for Avengers: Infinity War

In another promotional campaign to pave way for the highly anticipated premiere of Avengers: Infinity War later this month, Marvel Studios has joined forces with Microsoft to make sure that fans have enough free Xbox Avatars to go around.

There are twelve in total that feature a suit each for Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Gamora, and Star Lord. In addition, there is the choice of having your digital self wear Doctor Strange’s levitating cloak and don Thanos’ overwhelming Infinity Gauntlet. There are also companions to side with such as Hulk, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon for those interested.

Like before, this particular promotional campaign for Avengers: Infinity War sees Hawkeye absent as well. Last week, co-director Anthony Russo noted that there is a very good reason for the character to be in hiding. There was a tease that he is on a separate mission that cannot be revealed at this point because it falls under major spoilers.

The free Xbox Avatars can be checked out through the official Microsoft Marketplace. Take note that the freebies are intended for select regions only. There is also no word on when the offer will expire. It would be better for users to play it safe and grab them as soon as possible.

Avengers: Infinity War will open in theaters worldwide on April 27, 2018. It will be the first of a two-part series. The untitled sequel, presently dubbed Avengers 4, is slated to premiere on May 3, 2019.

There are strong reports to indicate that Microsoft will be announcing a major overhaul of Xbox Avatars later this month as well. If it comes to pass, expect more details to be released during the press briefings at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 2018) in summer.
