Harry Potter: Wizards Unite – What You Need To Know, Release Date, Beta Details, E3 Appearance
The release of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Fortnite on the mobile devices has erased any doubts in the gaming industry that the portables are not ready for AAA games. However, there was a game that was far bigger on the mobile devices than anything else was i.e. Pokemon Go and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite may just be a worthy successor.
The developers of Pokemon Go – Niantic – are back with another game. This time, they take on another franchise which has a cult following that can rival every other. The game is not out yet, but there are rumors that we are going to get a beta version soon. For this reason, we thought we should let you know everything that we are currently aware of in regards to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
Everything About Harry Potter: Wizards Unite
From what we can tell after looking at the reveal trailer, this is a game that will allow you to have the same amount of socialization that you would get with Pokemon Go but you would get a lot more stuff to do, thus creating a very interactive experience which you can share with your friends.
In the game, you will spend your time learning spells and exploring the world to find new items for yourself. These items will allow you battle against magical creatures. You will also be able to team up with your friends and other strangers to take out your enemies together.
Fans are eagerly awaiting this game to see if the developers have managed to learn from the shortcomings of Pokemon Go and if they are able to create a game that takes the world by storm all over again.
From what we know so far, the game will be out in the second half of 2018. This was revealed by the CEO of Niantic, John Hanke, in an interview with the Financial Times. There has been no mention of an exact date which seems to suggest that the game is still in development.
With the summer approaching, the release date is drawing near and there is a chance that the beta of the game may be released very soon. I would not be surprised if Niantic decides to showcase the game and announce a beta during upcoming E3 2018 conference.
New Stuff We Can Expect
Perhaps the biggest change that we can expect will come from the fact that Niantic have acquired Escher Reality in February of this year. This company is making massive strides in Augmented Reality and there is a very huge chance that we will get to see some of the technology that was researched by Escher included in the finished version of Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.
At the very least, we can expect an update in the future in which they do try to somehow make AR a part of the game.
A massive problem with the Pokemon Go was the fact that its launch was marred by a lot of problems. However, John Hanke revealed in his interview with the Financial Times that they are in a much better position to prepare for the launch of their game and they will ensure that the launch of the game is much smoother than that of Pokemon Go.
Apart from this, we can expect Niantic to be much more prepared when it comes to dealing with the rules and the regulations of various different governments.
This will allow the game to be better confined within the legal restrictions that were placed on Pokemon Go in certain countries. For example, they can change the hotspots to not be in places that can cause real problems.
Thoughts and What to be Excited For!
There is absolutely no doubt that this will be a game that will be incredibly hyped up before its release and there will be an absolute mammoth number of people trying to play the game during the initial days.
The important part is to ensure that the game has a smooth release and people are able to enjoy the game to its fullest potential.
The fact that you will have a lot of different spells means that there might be a Progression System which allows you to upgrade your spells using one way or the other. This will be good if they somehow manage to incorporate a social aspect to upgrading the spells.
It could be something as simple as meeting up with random people on hotspots to upgrade each other’s spells or fighting monsters together in order to get various different upgrades.
Whatever happens, we are definitely very excited to see how Niantic goes ahead and tackles trying to assuage one of the most hardcore cult following of almost any franchise. The fans will be expecting a lot and it will be difficult but not impossible for Niantic to deliver. Niantic have already created a worldwide phenomenon once and I would not put it past them to do it once again.
