Black Tom Cassidy Was Removed From Deadpool 2 for Cable and Domino – Rumor

It is being said that Cable (Josh Brolin) and Domino (Zazie Beetz) were not the original supervillains (or anti-heroes) set to be featured in Deadpool 2. The central antagonistic role was instead being given to Black Tom Cassidy (Jack Kesy) during the initial phase. However, the character had to be removed later on in order to make room for the time-travelling mutant and the iconic X-Force member.

“Jack Kesy, who’s gonna be the villain in Deadpool 2… I heard he got cut from the movie. Breaking news. So check that one out, guys,” Jeff Sneider of The Tracking Board said. “But yeah, I don’t know if we’re gonna be seeing Jack Kesy in Deadpool 2. We’ll see. I haven’t seen the movie, I haven’t talked to anyone who has seen the movie, but I’ve heard, someone chimed in after that poll, and they were like ‘I don’t know if he’s still in it.’”

Black Tom Cassidy has not appeared in any trailers that have been released for Deadpool 2 so far. Hence, it would be really surprising to know that he still has some part to play in the upcoming sequel. On that note, he has never before made a debut on the silver screen in a comic book adaptation.

Taking into account that Deadpool 2 will introduce the X-Factor for the first time, it was perhaps a good decision to not include too many characters in the mix. That would have bode troublesome because director David Leitch already had to allot screen time for the five members, plus side characters and the leading duo — Cable and Deadpool.

Black Tom Cassidy is a powerful mutant in the comic books that can channel energy blasts through a wooden staff. He has paired with several other supervillains over the years, including the Juggernaut. The character has been a strong adversary to the X-Men and was hired by the Shi’ar Empire to kidnap Lilandra Neramani for the M’Kraan Crystal during the Dark Phoenix storyline.

Deadpool 2 will open in theaters on May 18, 2018.
