Fortnite is getting into the holiday season with version 3.4, as new Fortnite content has been added to the game. These include new weapons such as an Easter egg launcher, and vending machines that dispense weapons when they’re used. Epic will also now be updating the game every two weeks.
Fortnite has experienced a meteoric rise in popularity not unlike PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, its most direct competition. Marketed as a somewhat sillier Battle Royale game (because, come on, Easter egg grenade launchers?), Fortnite has gotten a lot more fans than its original concept, building fortresses to survive against zombies, would have ordinarily.
In addition to the Easter Egg grenade launchers that have been added to the game, other new Fortnite content includes vending machines that will now be sprinkled around the map. The vending machines will dispense weapons randomly, not just in terms of what weapon it is, but what rarity it is, so there’s a chance of you getting a really good weapon with the press of a button.
The weapons won’t be free, however; depending on what you get, you’ll have to pay in materials. They’ll also operate on a timer cycle, so you’ll have to time going to the machine properly…or just whack it with a pickaxe to speed the timer up.
New Fortnite content will also be coming with new bi-weekly Content Updates, which Epic says will not require players to fully update the game in order to access.
On top of all of that, there will also be a number of different adjustments to other weapons, which will be getting First Shot Accuracy. That means that as long as you haven’t fired your weapon recently, aren’t moving, and have the enemy solidly in your target reticule, you’ll hit them without fail.
Everything else is mainly a number of weapon adjustments and bug fixes, but all of the new Fortnite content has already been said. So, go and update Fortnite and try it out!
