We recently found out that Shadow of the Tomb Raider could be getting dual-wielding but there is more to the story. The artwork shared by the official account also showed a deadly addition to the crafting system, building machetes.
The artwork, posted below, shows a number of interesting things. First, it shows Lara on top of a tree branch which hints that this Rise of the Tomb Raider mechanic is going to have a more refined and deeper role in the upcoming game. Moreover, there is a DIY machete in her hand that in an indication of a deeper crafting system in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
There is a sticker on the blade and it is not the sharpest piece of metal, a clear sign that Lara crafted it from metal scraps. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is expected to have a deeper crafting system, one that refines the one we had access to in Rise of the Tomb Raider.
For now, all this is speculation but we will have more information later this month. On April 27, players will get a full reveal of Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The game is expected to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC later this year.
According to Crytal Dynamics, the new Tomb Raider game will be the final stepping stone for Lara Croft to become Tomb Raider. From here on, her origin story will end and future installments will focus on a more mature Lara.
