Better late than never they say. Hello Games is bringing No Man’s Sky to Xbox One with the help of 505 Games later this year, after 2 years of exclusivity on PlayStation 4 and PC. Along with the No Man’s Sky Xbox One Edition, the game will receive a new free update on all platforms, hyping it one year after its last update.
After its release, No Man’s Sky has been called the biggest scam in the video game industry for not keeping up with its marketing campaign. The developers have tried to make it somewhat better with the help of free updates, the latest being Atlas Rises. Hello Games is at least committed to bringing a big free update somewhere near the game’s release anniversary and that’s the case for the next one as well. As announces, the new update is called No Man’s Sky NEXT but other than that we have no more information about its content.
Hello Games’ Sean Murray says on the game’s website:
“We called this update NEXT, because it’s an important next step on a longer journey for us and the community. We’ve been working our socks off on this and it’s by far our biggest update so far. It will be free to existing players, and we’ll continue to support No Man’s Sky in this way for the foreseeable future.”
As for the game’s release on Xbox One, Sean Murray has revealed that it will be enhanced on Xbox One X with 4K and HDR support. Players will get all previous updates (Foundation, Pathfinder, and Atlas Rises) along with No Man’s Sky Xbox One Edition, which will also have a retail edition, courtesy of 505 Games. No Man’s Sky is also releasing on China through WeGame, the Tencent Chinese platform.
No Man’s Sky next free update is due to launch this August while its version on Xbox One will also release later this year. Is Hello Games’ try to redeem itself finally working?
